There is a sin that the Scripture describes as “unforgivable.” In Matthew 12, verses 31-32 says, “Therefore I tell you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven people, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven. And whoever speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven, either in this age or in the age to come.”
But it must be understood this sin is NOT unforgivable as if The God Who Is decided He would be mean and not forgive. The ministry of the Holy Spirit is to lead one to Jesus; “blasphemy against the Spirit” is to completely reject the Spirit’s drawing power; thus such is unforgivable.
As I have blogged before, God would even forgive Lucifer IF he would repent, but his sin is against all that The God Who Is can reveal of Himself to him – i.e., he has blasphemed the Holy Spirit.
